I had several Outlook PST archives containing years of emails and wanted to move outlook emails to office 365 so everything would be accessible online through Microsoft 365. Since some PST files were very large, I was worried about migration failure or missing mailbox items during the transfer process.
The Outlook Import/Export wizard was my first option, but it became extremely slow with larger mailboxes. I also looked into the Network Upload method, but setting up mailbox import roles, AzCopy, and CSV mapping felt too technical for a simple migration task.
While searching for easier alternatives, I found information about the DRS Softech PST to Office 365 Migration Tool, which explained a more straightforward migration process with support for batch PST import and folder hierarchy preservation. The preview feature also looked helpful because it allows users to verify mailbox data before migration begins.
One thing I realized during this migration is that storing PST files locally is not ideal for long-term management. Office 365 offers much better accessibility, cloud backup, and security compared to traditional offline Outlook storage.
