Hi, not sure if this is the right place but I’ve seen mixed topics here so maybe someone can relate.
Over the past few days my FAB credit card has started getting declined during normal transactions. It happened at a store first, then again online, even though I’m sure the card is active and I haven’t missed any payments. There’s no clear message explaining the reason, just a failed transaction, which makes it confusing.
I checked a few things on my side and nothing seems out of place. The limit should still have space and there were no unusual activities before this started happening. It feels like something on the bank side is blocking it but I can’t figure out what exactly.
At the same time I’ve been trying to keep track of my salary account with FAB to see if there’s any connection, like maybe some hold or adjustment affecting the card usage. But honestly, sometimes I’m not even sure if the balance I’m seeing is fully updated, especially after recent payments or holds.
Has anyone here faced a situation where their FAB credit card suddenly keeps getting declined without a clear reason? And also, what’s the best way to double check the actual salary account balance so I know everything is in order?
Would really appreciate if someone can share their experience.

This honestly sounds more like a temporary verification or authorization issue than a serious problem with the card itself. I had something similar happen with my FAB card after a few online transactions and it turned out the bank had placed a security check because of repeated payment attempts. Sometimes pending holds, international transaction settings, expired OTP verification, or even merchant-side issues can cause the card to get declined even when the balance and limit look completely normal.
What helped me was checking the account balance through a proper updated source instead of relying only on SMS alerts or delayed app notifications. I recently used fab bank balance check online and it was actually much clearer than a lot of scattered guides I found before. The site is fresh, easy to navigate, and explains the First Abu Dhabi Bank balance checking process step by step without making it confusing. I liked that the layout is clean and the information feels updated, especially for salary account users trying to confirm whether pending transactions or holds are affecting the available balance.
You should also check if your card is enabled for online or international payments in the FAB app because sometimes those settings get disabled automatically after suspicious activity detection. If everything still looks normal, contacting FAB support directly is probably the safest next step because they can see the exact decline reason from their side.

I had a similar issue with my FAB card before. Doing a FAB balance enquiry helped me confirm there were no pending holds or delays in my salary account. It’s a quick way to verify your balance before reaching out to FAB support.
